Another suing spree: Justice Dery sues UTV, Conference Centre for contempt

One of the accused judges alleged to have taken bribes in the Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ investigative piece, Justice Paul Dery, has filed a contempt suit against the International Conference Center and UTV.

The suit comes a day after the video put together by Anas and his Tigereye team, was premiered at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) despite a pending interlocutory injunction to stop the facility from screening it.

Justice Dery’s lawyer, Nii Kpakpo Samoa Addo had on Tuesday withdrawn an application for interlocutory injunction against Anas and Tigereyepi from airing thevideo but that against the AICC was maintained.

United Television, popularly known as UTV is joined in the latest contempt suit for showing portions of the videoin their news on Tuesday night.The second part of the viewing continues at the AICC today, Wednesday at 4:00pm and 8:00pm respectively.This is fourth suit filed by Justice Dery since his name came up as one of the judges in the video.

He is also said to be heading to the Supreme Court to get Anas’ petition to the Chief Justice and the Judicial Council, “nullified.”
