Okyeame Kwame: “Ask Shatta Rako if he was born in Kumasi, if not he is not part of Kumasi boys.
Shatta Rako: “On Kessben 93.3fm today, “Tribalism” popped up again! Okyeame Kwame said the host of the entertainment show should ask me if i was born in Kumasi.. He said this in answering a question related to the “Ksi Boys” song.. this is where we are now! Questions is, is this wha we need?? #SayNoToTribalism #UnityisKey#NeverSayNever #WeAreONEGHANA”
Kumasi based hiplife rapper Okyeame Kwame known in real life as Kwame Nsiah Appau was on Kessben 93.3 FM yesterday 5th December, 2015 in Kumasi on an interview with Dj Roy about his just unleashed Ksi Boys tune which he claimed was set to be a unifying force for Kumasi music.
He took the “Oseikrom” music fraternity by wonder when everybody realized the juxtaposed agenda was a piecemeal with the nonappearance of mainstream Kumasi based artistes namely; dancehall heavyweight Rexford Kojo Amoah better known by the populace as Shatta Rako, and many more lead acts from that circles.
Dj Roy in the course of the interview with Okyeame Kwame chipped in an issue about tribalism and music and asked him why Shatta Rako was not featured on his “KsiBoys song which featured Flowking King Stone , Cabum, Strongman and KuntaKinte of Bradez fame because he(Shatta Rako) was widely known for his Oseikrom unity and take over activation in Ghana and hence should be the priority artiste on this tune but gave a shocking reply. “Ask Shatta Rako if he was born in Kumasi, if not then he is not part of ksi boys”: he replied . He again went further saying he and other Kumasi boys were born , raised and schooled in Kumasi, making mention of schools they had attented.
