The aim of many Ghanaian movie-makers is to get international recognition.
Despite the numerous criticism of some Kumawood movies with regards to its content, videography and sound, Ghanaian actor Bill Asamoah believes he can win an Oscar when the local movie-makers improve their work.
To him, the upgrade will help the local movie industry gain international recognition which will help them win Oscars.
The Kumawood darling boy in an interview with OMGVoice.com stated that it is the dream of most actors to win such a prestigious award and he is one of the many who eyes the Oscars.
“Asking me if my dream is to win an Oscar is like asking someone if he wants to go to heaven. Oscars is the dream of many actors so definitely I want to win one. We are working very hard to get international recognition in other to win an Oscars one day.”
He continued to applaud child actor Abraham Attah who presented an award at this year’s Oscars. The president of Ashanti Regional chapter of Actors Guild stated that he is proud of the young boy for such an achievement at his early stage of his career.
“The Oscars”, is an annual American awards ceremony hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to recognize excellence in cinematic achievements in the United States film industry as assessed by the Academy’s voting membership.
