Church Members Scramble For Holy Condom Blessed By Pastor In Kenya

anointed condoms from a pastor

A man of God in Kenya, Pastor Paul Sanyangore , has caused another stir in that country after he blessed condoms for his church members during a service, reports Nehanda Radio.

According to the reports, there was almost a stampede as church members , both married and singles, rushed to get the anointed condoms from the Pastor who is regarded as one of the most controversial in the East African country.

Justifying his actions, Pastor Sanyangore was said to have told reporters that a woman brought the condoms for him to anoint so she could use with her husband who had abandoned her for two years and only went back to her few days earlier.

“I prophesied to a certain woman that her husband would return two years after his mysterious disappearance. I am not sure but during the week, the husband called her telling her he would come back home.

She came to church and during prayer time, she took the condoms out and handed them to my assistant asking if they were okay to use when her husband returns.

I saw nothing wrong in her using them with her husband after two years of absence. Who knows what he was doing there so it is better to be safe.

When I prayed for the condoms, some women came out and wanted to have them.”

Surely the end of time is at hand.

Airlines lose GH¢6m to Harmattan shutdown

starbow

Domestic airlines will lose an estimated GH¢6million per week if the Harmattan, which is associated with poor visibility, continues to cause flight suspensions and delays.

The onset of the Harmatan — north/eastern dry winds originating from the Saharan-Arabian desert last week — has forced the two main domestic airlines in the country, Starbow and Africa World Airlines (AWA), to suspend flights to Kumasi, Tamale and Sunyani…leaving passengers stranded at the various airports.

Africa World Airlines (AWA), which operates 50-seat ERJ 145LR jets to Tamale, Kumasi and Takoradi, is estimated to lose about GH¢2.5million in gross revenue per week if visibility continues to be poor.

Starbow, which operates two 94-seat BAe 146-300 jets and a Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft that can seat up to 78 passengers, is estimated to lose about GH¢4million per week if the dusty season continues.

The industry regulator, the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), says the weather may improve for flight operations after December 15, 2015.

There are currently two airlines — Starbow and Africa World Airlines — offering domestic flights from Accra to Kumasi, Tamale, and Takoradi.

The operators have had to increase their flight frequencies since July to these three destination following the suspension of Antrak’s operations for three months.

Antrak Air, a wholly-owned indigenous domestic operator, suspended its operations following challenges with its wet-lease arrangement with Swift Air, a Spanish airliner, for use of the latter’s two ATR 72-500 turbo-prop aircraft.

Foreign exchange losses are believed to have increased the cost of operations for the airline, forcing it to ditch the wet-lease agreement.

Since January 2014 the cedi has lost about 40 percent of its value to the US dollar, despite a range of measures introduced by the central bank Last year the cedi lost about 31 percent of its value after a string of poor performances, largely in the first half of the year.

The slide prompted the central bank to introduce forex restrictions, which market players accused of being counterproductive. Domestic airlines, notwithstanding the local currency’s slide, had to absorb the exchange losses that were estimated to be about US$2million per operator.

About 80 percent of the operations of airlines are dollar-based. Imported spare-parts, cost of aviation fuel and insurance are all priced in dollars. The imposition of 17.5 percent Value Added Tax (VAT) in July also led to a drastic decline in passenger numbers.

There have been calls for the Finance |Ministry to review implementation of this tax, but the 2016 budget and economic policy of government presented to Parliament was conspicuously silent on it.

Dr. Camynta Baezie, Executive Chairman of the State Enterprises Commission, has called for immediate suspension of the 17.5 percent VAT on domestic air travel that has reduced passenger throughput by more than 20 percent.

“The State Enterprises Commission would like to bring to the attention of the President, sector ministry and, more importantly, the Ministry of Finance that the high cost of domestic flights is something that has been said over and over again.

“We need to reduce the airfares, and to do that we think government needs to take out the 17.5 percent VAT and remove the taxes on aviation fuel.

Taxes are meant to benefit the people, and removal will lead to increased domestic passenger travel, creating jobs and hence employment for the benefit of the very people that we are imposing the taxes on,”

Dr. Baezie said at a recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Ghana Airports Company Limited in Accra.

Gays spreading HIV/AIDS

gays

HOMOSEXUALS ARE one of the major causes of high prevalence HIV epidemic in the Greater Accra Region, Rita Afriyie, technical coordination consultant at the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), has stated.

She said the youth in the Greater Accra Region who are between the ages of 12 to 24 have also been identified as most at risk, likewise uniformed service workers, transport workers and vulnerable groups like female head-porters and some areas which are disproportionately affected.

Ms Afriyie made this astonishing revelation at the Greater Accra Regional World AIDS Day celebration which was held at the forecourt of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) on Tuesday.

The commemoration was under the theme: ‘Fast Track: Meeting The Health Needs of Children towards an HIV-Free Generation’. She was disheartened about the HIV/AIDs prevalence rate in the country which positions Greater Accra as the second on the regional prevalence table.

The technical coordination consultant called on all to contribute their quota in addressing the challenges associated with HIV/AIDS in the region. According to her, socio-cultural and economic factors coupled with poor sanitation are the major determinants of the increase in prevalence in the region.

Touching on the reduction of infection among children, Ms Afriyie mentioned that Greater Accra had achieved 73 percent which is 118, 472 of its target coverage of 161, 914 for HIV testing of pregnant women.

Albeit such an achievement, she pointed that effort will still be made in that direction to seal all gaps in HIV prevention and treatment for children.

She said Ghana AIDS Commission will accelerate the implementation of comprehensive prevention and treatment programmes for all persons in the country, especially focusing resource on children to ensure that they have access to services to help prevent and manage HIV.

In line with the UNAIDS objective of 90-90-90 targets by 2020, Ms Afriyie indicated that Ghana will start the process to ensure 90 percent of all persons living with HIV know their status, 90 percent of those who know their status are put on antiretroviral medicines and 90 percent of those put on the drugs have a suppressed viral load. She appealed to the public to provide support in eliminating HIV in Ghana.

Asamoah Gyan cleared of r**e case

asamoah-Gyan1

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan popularly known as Baby Jet has been cleared of r**e and unnatural carnal allegations leveled against him by Miss Sarah Kwabla.

The Attorney General after careful study of r**e and unnatural carnal knowledge allegations made by Miss Sarah Kwabla against Asamoah Gyan has concluded that the allegations are baseless and the docket should be closed.

Kissi Agyabeng, lawyer for Asamoah Gyan revealed this on Adom FM’s Midday News Tuesday.

“We are already aware that allegations which were leveled against Gyan were baseless and we were sure it will come to this. Asamoah Gyan and I are very happy” Kissi Agyabeng declared.

Sarah and two others – Osafo Anthony, 29, journalist and Chris Handler, a blogger – have been variously charged for conspiring to extort money while popular reggae musician, Lester Ekow Micah, 43, has been slapped with the charge of abetment.

But the lawyer for Sarah Kwabla says the case is ‘half baked’ and insists the AG is not competent to clear Asamoah Gyan.

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw maintains the responsibility of the AG is to offer advise but not to clear cases.

“It is the court that decides and not the AG. A criminal case does not have an expiry date and so we will continue to fight and not allow the AG to compromise issues” he asserted.

Lawyer Ampaw indicated that they will organize a press conference to react to the latest development.

“On 14th December, I together with my team will have a press confab to respond to AG and make the evidence known to the public domain. We will not allow the AG to take us for granted” he stated.

Donald Trump urges ban on Muslims entering the US

david trump

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has called for a “total and complete” halt to Muslims entering the US, in the wake of the deadly California shootings.

He said that polling showed a “hatred” by Muslims towards Americans that could put the nation at risk.

The border shutdown should remain “until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on”.

The White House swiftly criticised Mr Trump’s statement as “un-American”.

It is contrary to US values and its national security interests, a statement said.

Last week, a Muslim couple believed to have been radicalised opened fire and killed 14 people at a health centre in San Bernardino.

Mr Trump’s statement to reporters on Monday said polling firms like the Center for Security Policy had data that showed a hatred by a significant number of Muslims against Americans.

“Without looking at the various polling data, it is obvious to anybody the hatred is beyond comprehension. Where this hatred comes from and why, we will have to determine.

“Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life.”

When asked by The Hill if that included Muslim Americans who may currently be abroad, his spokeswoman said: “Mr Trump says everyone.”

Soon after his statement was released, Mr Trump’s Republican rival Ben Carson called on all visitors to the US to “register and be monitored” during their stay.

Protest in Washington

Protesters support Trump’s stance against Muslim refugees

But his spokesman added: “We do not and would not advocate being selective on one’s religion.”

Another Republican presidential hopeful, Senator Lindsey Graham, urged all those running to condemn Mr Trump’s remarks.

Jeb Bush, former Florida Governor, immediately obliged, calling Mr Trump “unhinged”.

I laughed off an offer to act with Lilwin – Maame Dokono

grace omaboe - maame dokono

Veteran actress, Grace Omaboe aka ‘Maame Dokono’ has revealed that she turned down an offer to act with popular Kumawood actor, Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin.

The decision to turn down the offer, she said had nothing to do with the appearance of the actor or anything to do with the Kumawood movies and its contents.

Instead, it was based on the role assigned her in the undisclosed movie.

“I was called by one of these Kumawood movie makers and he wanted me to come and play a role in a movie which would feature Lilwin and my role would be his wife in the movie…how? I turned down that role immediately…,” she said.

The celebrated actress of  ‘Obra’ fame said she could not see herself playing the role of Lilwin’s wife in a movie.

“Come on, you know this guy, he would make some derogatory comments which would try to ridicule my integrity as an old woman…he would poke fun at you and that is why I turned down that offer…”she explained in an interview with Kwame Manukure on Oman FM.

Maame Dokono also expressed disgust at the rate at which the comedian/actor is made to play the role of an Old man in a movie ‘when clearly there are aged actors who can play the role better’.

On her Obra series, Maame Dokono said their latest series would be shown on GTV this Christmas.

She revealed they are yet to shoot two of the series.

To make the series very lively as it was then, Maame Dokono said qualified persons have been recruited to play the roles of departed members of the group like S.K Oppong, B Kissi and several others.

Okyeame Kwame talks about all you need to know about #ksiBoys movement

Okyeame Kwame – Kumasi Boys ft Strongman x FlowKing Stone & Cabum

Okyeame Kwame has told DJ Raw on Kessben FM in Kumasi that he started planning on how to help Kumasi artistes two years ago. Rap Dacta said the dream to start a project of this nature has been there for long but he thinks the time is now to implement what he has been planning over the years.

According to him, the movement tagged #KsiBoys needs not the help of only musicians but bloggers, presenters, DJs, chiefs, businessmen, fashion designers also have to help develop Kumasi music.

“It is to help Kumasi artistes who have talent and are doing very well. We are all aware that musicians like Kojo-Cue, Phrimpong, Kofi Supreme, Willy Maame have the talent but for some strange reasons the light has moved from Kumasi to different place. We are all bringing our efforts but it is not just the musicians. We need bloggers, presenters, DJs, chiefs, businessmen, fashion designers to come together to lift Kumasi music again.

The dream has been there for long, its been two years since I talked to you (DJ Raw) about it. Every single day I hear of Kojo Cue, Kofi Supreme and other guys, I tell myself that I’m the only one to use my experience help and bring them to mainstream but the problem has always been time, money, equipments and my mental state of being ready to start the movement. These things have been keeping me away from embarking on this project but from the time I started talking to you (DJ Raw) about this issue, we have been planning on how to make this dream come true so the time is now.”

Hinting more on the roadmap for #KsiBoys, the musician whose new single “Small Small” has become one of the most popular songs in the country disclosed that “the four artistes on the song, Strongman, Cabum, Flowking Stone and myself, Okyeame Kwame will be in Kumasi this week for the music video shoot. We also have plans of meeting some traditional leaders in the city we believe when they support us, cooperate bodies will also agree to come on board to help organise events, get us endorsement deals and also help in achieving the movement’s dream.”

Okyeame Kwame further added that “we are also recording #KsiGirls so that the ladies will not be left out because if you exclude ladies, you will not win your fight. Again verse two of #KsiBoys which Peweezle is currently on the beat will also be out before Christmas.”

The verse two of #KsiBoys according to him will have rappers like Kojo Cue, Phrimpong and another artiste which the general public will help in selecting but “so far, the person whose name has been mentioned several times is Willy Maame.”
