The lyrical “Godfather” of Hiplife music Reggie Rockstone has stated in a press soiree that lyrical jibes commonly called “Beef” is healthy for music growth in Ghana.
“Beef is good for music. It actually adds spice to the industry once the musicians themselves do not engage in physical fisticuffs or fight”, he said.

Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has paid glowing tribute to several artistes in the country for working tirelessly to put dancehall music at the forefront of music in the country.
While many are praising him for putting Ghana on the map when it comes to the genre, which wasn’t popular only a few years ago, Stonebwoy believes that he does not deserve the credit alone.
Speaking in an interview on the Super Morning Show on Joy FM with Kojo Yankson Thursday, a lot of artistes equally played a part in the process.

Popular Ghanaian actor James Gardner has said money would come first should he be offered the opportunity to choose between love and money.
The actor made this disclosure while reacting to questions about a recent role he played in Venus film’s upcoming movie, Candle In The Wind.
James, who played the role of George in the new movie, was offered a huge sum of money and properties to abandon the love of his life and marry his boss’ daughter.
According to him, from the face of it, he won’t hesitate to take such an offer in real life, adding that he would do that because he wouldn’t know what would happen subsequently.
However, concerning what subsequently happened in the movie, where he had to kill his child to protect the money, he said he wouldn’t have gone to that extent.
“If I were in that situation the character was in—I don’t mean now; I think the guy took too long — I will overdo it because I wouldn’t know what will lay in stock for me in the future. I didn’t know I would have to kill my baby and stuff like that.
“At the beginning I thought it was just about rendering me incapable of giving birth again, and I can’t sleep with any other lady and just stay in that marriage and then I get all I want. So it sounded easy but later it turned out to be something else. But if I have to take a decision because I wouldn’t know what will happen in the future…I will definitely do it,” he told journalists at the movie’s press release when he was asked what he would have done in real life if he was confronted with such a situation as it happened in the movie.
James remains one of Ghana’s fine actors. He has acted in quite a number of Ghanaian movies and has often been described an actor with good charisma.

Hiplife artiste Kwaw Kese has made a passionate appeal to the youth to stay clear of illicit drugs.
The musician is making the appeal a year after he was arrested, tried and convicted for smoking marijuana in Kumasi.
Kwaw Kese made a return to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Saturday, November 21, 2015 for Luv FM’s Skuuls Reunion event. He was arrested last year after performing at the same event.
After having a hitch-free show in Kumasi this time around, the rapper is urging the youth to stay away from drugs.
“One year on, God has been good to me, I have graduated from a kid to a man and want to urge the youth to stay away from drugs,” he said in an interview with Dr Pounds on the Hitz Gallery on Hitz FM.
According to him, he has realised a lot of the youth are indulging in the use of different drugs which can affect their health.
“There are different drugs the youth have indulged in these days like cocaine, codeine, weed etc. which affect them health wise,” he stated.
“So I always tell my brothers that kontomire is green, one can only prepare stew with it and avoid problems with the law but do drugs and then end up with the police,” he added.
No fewer than 500 Nigerians have been deported from the United Kingdom to Nigeria.
They arrived at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos this morning.
Reports indicate that most of them have been deported over illegal stay permits.
Those who spoke to the media complained about how they were handled by the British authorities, alleging that majority of them were not even allowed take their belongings before being deported.
It has been reported that the authorities plan to deport 29,000 Nigerians.
But the Nigeria High Commission in London had in October expressed worry over plans by the migration and removal policy of the UK Government, to deport the 29,000 Nigerians.
The Acting Nigerian High Commissioner in London, Olukunle Bamgbose, said. “I think about 29,000 Nigerians have been designated to be deported.
“We are insisting that due process must be followed before Nigerians are really removed from the UK to Nigeria,’’ he said.
He gave four conditions that should be met by the UK immigration office before the commission could accept the migration and deportation agenda.
“First, we must ensure that they are really Nigerians; they are medically fit to travel; all the legal processes must have been completed and that they have role to play in Nigeria.
“You do not expect someone who has not been to Nigeria for 30 years to 40 years, and does not have any family and you want to deport him.
“He will constitute social problems to us in Nigeria; so these are the sore points at this moment that we have,’’ the envoy said.
Mr. Bamgbose noted that in spite of the challenge, the relationship between Nigeria and UK had deepened, adding that the UK is ready to engage with Nigerians in various aspects including defence, immigration, trade and investment.
“In 2012 trade volume between the two countries was about four billion pounds, which has doubled now.
“But with what we now have British investors are ready to move into Nigeria in a massive way.
“I expect that in the next two to three years the trade volume will triple and go to about 12 billion pound or even more.”
Mr. Bamgbose attributed the rise to the new confidence the foreign investors had in Nigeria and the new administration.
“The willingness of the British businessmen to even want to come to Nigeria is very important.
“Because, hitherto, the way we were running the government they did not have that confidence in government.
“They are not really sure whether they can go into Nigeria and invest.
“Now with the new administration, what they believe the new administration can do and the fidelity with which the new administration has brought to governance that is the first thing.
“You have to have the confidence of those who are going to Nigeria to invest and I think with what is going on now they are very confident that they can go into Nigeria and invest,’’ he said.
“But since the new administration came in we have found our bounce, there is that diplomatic bounce once again.
“One the Federal Government has taken the batch on the Boko Haram, they are being decimated; also the energy problem is being addressed frontally also again the issue of graft is also being addressed.
“We have found our bounce and as diplomats here we are going to engage our colleagues from other countries without necessarily being apologetic by our country,’’ he added.

Kwesi Nyantakyi has revealed the Ghana FA has signed an agreement for top notch musicians to perform at Premier League venues next season. The GFA is exploring ways to boost patronage of games in the Ghanaian top flight. Attendance to Premier League matches have been appalling over the years mainly due to the lacking presence of established and exciting players.
Clubs in Ghana keep losing their best players to foreign clubs due to relatively poor working conditions in the country. The GFA is now making direct efforts to enhance patronage of league matches by signing an agreement to have some of the top performers in Ghana thrill and entertain fans at venues. This initiative will however be conducted on a pilot basis to gauge its success before a full-scale implementation is made.
“We have signed an agreement to have musicians perform at league centers with the likes of Shatta Wale and Sarkodie all included,” GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi.
This will be done on a pilot basis at limited venues due to cost until it is fully implemented at all league centers. These are some of the innovations we are bringing on board. If Shatta Wale or Sarkodie are performing at the stadium, a minimum of GH?10 is charged but we are looking at ways to reduce this cost. Kwesi Nyantakyi had earlier announced a devised strategy of using attractive ladies to draw peopleto the stadiums.

After tipping him to be the next owner of Ghanaian dancehall, Stonebwoy seems to be solidly behind Ghana’s fastest rising dancehall act, Masaany.
The two have been rocking together since they got on stage together, during the easter festivities to dish out a sweaty freestyle to voltarian fan. Stonebwoy has since staked up for the “Dancehall Messiah”, aiding him with advice.
The latest of Stonebwoy’s recent advices comes on the heels of Masaany’s forthcoming track release. The AFRIMMA winner took to Facebook to admonish Masaany.
He encouraged Masaany to never give up, indicating that he has seen the plot by other dancehall acts to pull down the youngster.
“Those you care for, ar those wishing you downfall”, Stonebwoy Burniton wrote. He further encouraged Masaany in his closing words, “Never fear no evil”
Masaany was yet to publicly reply to Stonebwoy admonition, but sources confirm that the Dancehall Messiah, is set to release a new song, which features Yaa Pono.

The comedian who has been sick for months now has visited various hospitals seeking medical assistance but his condition keeps getting worse and his health keeps deteriorating.
Nkomode revealed in an interview with Hitz News that he had problems with his kidney, liver and bladder but after taking a scan, doctors declared that his kidney is in a good condition.
“I fell sick in April. After, I went to a hospital in Accra for about seven months, I nearly died so they transferred me to Tema General Hospital. I had a scan and they told me there is a problem with my kidney, liver and bladder. When I got to Tema, I took another scan and they told me that my kidney is now safe.”
Nkomode who now finds it difficult talking, revealed that his colleague actors have forsaken him in his bad state. He mentioned Akrobeto as the only person who has been helping him on his sick bed.
“For these seven months that I have been sick, there is no actor who has come to visit me. The only person who takes care of me is Akrobeto. I can always boast of Akrobeto for what he has been doing for me. He has been taking care of me every day. Tema doctors asked me to use pampers after injections because I was going to urinate a lot after every injection. I can urinate about 15 times a day. When I called Akrobeto, he bought all the pampers for me.”
According to Hitz FM reporters who visited the comedian in his house, they saw him wearing diapers.
Nkomode, it would be recalled, won the Key Soap Concert Party Champion of Champions competition for three consecutive years. He defeated local comedian Bob Okala (Real name: Kwadjo Buabeng) in 1996, to win it for the first time, he beat another comedian called ‘Original 32’ to win the Champion of Champions for the second time in 1997, and Nkomode defeated Agya Koo (Kofi Adu) who is currently the most popular actor in Ghana in 1998 to win the title for the third time running.

Shatta Wale after parting ways with his manager Lawrence Asiamah Hanson known widely as Bulldog is still looking for a manager.
The award winning act is working hard to repair many of the bridges he burnt after his meteoric rise and fame.
He recently revealed he was ready to perform at no cost for his fellow comrade Samini, who released a diss song directed at the Dancehall King hit maker few weeks before that declaration.
In the latest interview, the Guinness Made of Black ambassador who is currently linked with Jamaica’s No Nice Records has revealed exactly where he looking for his next manager.
