Lots of political maturity was on display at the one week observation ceremony of the late Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu in Accra on Thursday when political opponents met at the funeral.
Politicians from all sides of the political divide converged at the venue to sympathize with the families and parties of the deceased.
And what many considered to be the highest point of the ceremony was when suspended chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Afoko stormed the venue in the company of the suspended 2nd Vice Chairman, Sammy Crabbe and former Chief of Staff, Kwadwo Mpianim.

Many at the venue wondered if he would greet the acting National Chairman, Freddie Blay who together with other big wigs of the NPP including the flagbearer were seated at the funeral grounds.
And indeed the time for the much awaited handshake came when Afoko walked forth and began to greet his colleague politicians.

The tension between them which has resulted in Paul Afoko dragging the leadership of the NPP to court made many believe he might end up not greeting Freddie Blay.
But that thinking was not what manifested at the venue when Afoko stepped forth to greet.

He warmly shook the hands of Nana Addo and the two exchanged smiles before he moved on to Freddie Blay.

And all gathered at the event looked up to see Paul Afoko smile and shake the hands of the man who is occupying the seat he was elected to fill after he was suspended.
