The general public has been encouraged to continue voting for their preferred nominees in the Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA) slated for 7th May at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The general public is encouraged to text “A” to vote for Artiste of the Year, “B” to vote for Vodafone Song of the Year, and “C” to vote for all other categories to the short code 1767.
Ms Agnes Emefa Essah, Marketing Director of Vodafone Ghana, said the awards ceremony with the theme, “Let the music play live” is organised to recognise the efforts of hardworking musicians across the country.
“Exciting times are here again and for us at Vodafone, the VGMA presents a unique platform to demonstrate our commitment to the industry in Ghana,” she said.
Ms Essah noted that the standards set in Ghana Music, previously treading downhill, has now made an unbelievable turn onto greater heights, which is truly satisfying for the telecom company.
The Nominees for the categories included the Overall Artiste of the year including VVIP, Sarkodie, Bisa K. Dei, Stonebwoy, SP Kofi Sarpong and EL; Highlife Artiste of the year having Bisa K. Dei, Afriyie, Ofori Amponsah and Nero X as nominees for the category; and VVIP, R2Bees, Keche, Galaxy, and Preachers for the Bets Group of the Year award.
Nero X, Donzy, Wisa, Atom and Kofi Kinaata are the nominees for the Best New Artiste of the year.
