Ghanaian Highlife musician, Amakye Dede has found himself on the wrong side of the law.
The musician who survived a very nasty car crush on 2 January, 2016, was invited by personnel of National Security for questioning in relation with his call for the public to supply him and his people weapons to fight Fulani herdsmen in Agogo.
According to Amakye Dede who made the revelation on Adom Fm’s Eveving News, personnel of National Security invited for questioning after he appealed to the general public to supply himself and the indigenes of Agogo, weapons to fight the Fulani herdsmen who have occupied Agogo stool lands and are fighting the natives.
“I was invited to national security and questioned on that. My crime was that I made an appeal that people with guns, bullets etc should supply us some so we would fight our battle and that led to my invitation by the national security.
He indicated that the situation in Agogo is very bad and if care is not taken, the peace-loving people of the town will take matters into their own hands and protect themselves and their land. He accused the police commander in the town of siding with the Fulani herdsmen instead of the indigenes.
“I blame no one but the Police Commander who instead protects the Fulani herdsmen more than the natives of the town.”
There is a long standing issue between Fulani herdsmen in the Agogo area and indigenes. The herdsmen have been accused of destroying farms and property belonging to the indigenes and when they are confronted, it turns bloody.
